QRfood world wide service originated from japan

Our mission: to make life easier for restaurants.

It all started back in 2012 at a Japanese restaurant. We were excited to order, but the menu was entirely in katakana and hiragana—with no photos and no descriptions. As much as we love Japanese food, we had no idea what we were ordering. It was frustrating, confusing, and not the experience we hoped for.

That moment sparked an idea: what if ordering at restaurants could be simple, clear, and accessible for everyone—no matter the language or menu format?

That’s how QRfood was born.

Japanese restaurants are known for their amazing service—but during busy lunch and dinner hours, things get hectic. Staff are stretched thin—taking orders, serving dishes, clearing tables, handling payments, and welcoming guests. It’s non-stop.

That’s when the idea struck: What if we created an electronic menu?

With a simple QR code at the table, customers could browse a full menu with photos, descriptions, and translations. They’d know exactly what they’re ordering. At the same time, it would ease the workload for the staff, freeing them from taking every order by hand and helping them focus on delivering great service.

In 2024, we’re taking QRfood worldwide! With new service and R&D hubs, we’re here to support both local businesses and the growing wave of global travelers in Japan. Big things are coming!
